Clothesline - progress 1

So I've started on this triptych commission. A sky-blue base fading to a lighter blue (almost white) at the bottom, and now I'm painting in the actual clothes. Although I should really paint the clothes line before I go any further. The background looks rather rough because I wanted to keep a painterly feel to them. I could have painted the backgrounds extremely smooth and perfect but then I would be going into 'extreme photorealism' which is not where I want these paintings to end up.

Each painting is 50 x 61 cm.
