
I tried painting in the sunshine, with sunglasses on this time. I find it always a bit tricky to get the skintone right, so I'm taking it slowly and carefully, building it up from the darks to the lights.

In this photograph of the painting I notice that there's quite a distance from the top of the cheeks to the bottom of the hat. That distance needs to be reduced, because otherwise I think the viewer will expect to see some eyes there.
Thought I was smart wearing my cap back to front but I burnt my neck and looked like a 38-year old trying to be young.
