Lots of hours work for a little bit of light on Linda's shoulder and back. It took me about three attempts to get the colour correct. For some reason the colour I was painting was making the skin look really 'dead'. Hard to explain why. Perhaps my water was dirty, or my brushes weren't clean enough. There was some kind of sparkle missing from the colours. The paint was just sliding about on the canvas or not even leaving the brush. Quite frustrating. I feel however like I'm getting there with the latest attempt, although it still needs a little more shine and life.
I really like the blue light on Linda's back. At the moment I've dry painted it straight on with a blue but I will perhaps re-paint in smoother, mixed colours... as long as I don't ruin it!
