The second panel was much quicker. I painted a background of blue fading from the right into black on the left. The wet blue on black was amazing - it looked almost like it was glowing, and I really liked the texture, but when it dried it seemed to lose the effect. Then I painted the 'rings' on afterwards. I'd thought about projecting the rings on and tracing them exactly, but I like the manual-ness of the first panel, where the curves aren't exact, and wanted to continue in the same way.Adam is very musical so I'm reminded of a vinly record when I look at this panel.
